Was confused why the weather strangely disappeared from my Apple Watch face. Discovered you need the Apple Weather app installed on your phone for it to work.
I’m never sure how to react or feel when I see someone who looks genuinely happy. Sometimes it’s infectious and seems to rub off on me. Other times I am nothing but jealous of them and lean towards despising them for their apparent joy in what I see as an often joyless world.
Early CoD thoughts:
I like it (early days though) Turn up controller sensitivity and utilise the Eden Hazard knee sliding feature EVERY 4 SECONDS. Slide around corners. Slide up stairs. Slide out of windows. Slide, slide, slide.
If the blinding whiteness of the web is stopping you from using Dark mode on your Mac check out the app Dark Mode for Safari. It turns every webpage black. https://t.co/DY0og9A2Dn
Doing: my weekly organising of the notes in @ulyssesapp. Always feels good. Drinking: Coffee. https://t.co/LW7x65Vv63 Listening: Chromatics “Night Drive”. https://t.co/sE0dqZAbcJ
I actually really like the design, simple UX and battery saving features of Apple Maps to be fair.
But if I was relying on GPS to get me to a job interview, would I trust Apple Maps? Nope, I’d chicken out and just use Google Maps. The address finding and traffic is superior.
Lots of the apps I use everyday rely on iCloud now. And it does its job quietly and reliably. Does iCloud not suck anymore? Seems that way.
Even stuff like Apple Photos and iCloud Drive finally works well for me.
What next? Apple Maps gets good‽
Just upgraded my iPad Pro from iOS 10 to 12. Huge improvement. Give it a couple of years and an iPad will be nearly as powerful and useful as a Mac.
The dock is fantastic. I set it up to mirror my Macs one. Switching between devices genuinely doesn’t feel too different.
I was surprised by how much @spaceinvader__1’s Patreon is getting each month (despite his amazing unRAID YouTube guides). Then I realised Lime Tech (unRAID) is just throwing money at him so they don’t have to do decent documentation/guides themselves.
I’m fucking around with my builds BIOS right now and wondering why I didn’t just stick with my Synology :/ Still I’m sure this will be worth the pain, sweat and tears shortly? Right? Right?!
I dunno. Maybe it was a mistake for me to decide to do an unRAID NAS build powered by Ryzen, despite knowing there was some bugs. Still, Ryzen is mature AF now! Surely these kinks need to be sorted out?!
I bounce between loving and hating unRAID so often. It’s super easy and powerful, sure. But if something goes even slightly wrong only the community can save you (despite unRAID costing £££ and should be offering support). Also, its GUI gives you zero faith. It’s out of 2008.
Spent the day practising for the #iRacing Global Challenge in the Cadillac. Somehow managed to qualify P3. Then taken out on the first lap, ha. Oh dear. https://t.co/N0dlxd7B6D
